GUJARAT — Amul has created history by becoming the first Indian FMCG brand to cross the ₹1 lakh crore turnover milestone in the financial year 2025–26. The achievement marks a major moment for India’s dairy cooperative movement and highlights the brand’s continued dominance in the global dairy sector.

According to the official financial data released by Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets Amul products, the federation recorded a 11.4% rise in sales, reaching ₹73,450 crore in FY 2025–26. The combined brand turnover of Amul crossed ₹1,00,000 crore, reflecting strong demand for its dairy products both in India and overseas.
Massive Cooperative Network Driving Growth
Amul’s scale of operations remains one of the largest in the global dairy industry. The cooperative network collects around 31 million litres of milk every day from nearly 36 lakh dairy farmers across India.
These milk supplies are processed and distributed through an extensive product portfolio of over 1,200 dairy and food products, ranging from milk and butter to ice cream, cheese, and beverages.
The brand’s distribution network has also expanded significantly. Amul products are now available in more than 50 countries, while the company distributes over 24 billion packs of milk and milk products annually worldwide.
Leadership Credits Farmers
Speaking on the milestone, Ashokbhai Chaudhary, Chairman of GCMMF, said the success belongs to the millions of dairy farmers associated with the cooperative network.
Vice Chairman Gordhanbhai Dhameliya described the achievement as a victory for the cooperative movement, emphasizing how farmer-owned institutions continue to transform rural economies.
Meanwhile, Managing Director Jayen Mehta noted that the cooperative model ensures producers receive fair value while strengthening India’s dairy industry.
Expansion and Global Strategy
One of the major drivers behind Amul’s growth has been aggressive market expansion. During the fiscal year, the brand launched fresh milk in Europe and the United States, marking a significant step in its international expansion strategy.
In addition, the newly launched Sardar Patel Cooperative Dairy Federation Limited (SPCDF) aims to bring together dairy cooperatives across the country to accelerate what leaders call a “Second White Revolution” in India.
Global Recognition
Amul’s financial milestone comes shortly after it was ranked the world’s number one cooperative by the International Cooperative Alliance. The recognition highlights the strength of India’s cooperative dairy model, which continues to scale globally while supporting millions of farmers.
With rapid growth in exports, increasing product innovation, and strong demand in quick-commerce and retail markets, Amul’s record turnover signals a new phase of expansion for India’s most iconic dairy brand.
