Spiritual Visit to Shirdi

Shortly after landing in India earlier this week, Ajith traveled to the temple town of Shirdi to offer prayers at the shrine dedicated to Sai Baba of Shirdi.

Temple authorities from the Shree Saibaba Sansthan Trust officially welcomed the actor upon his arrival. During his visit, Ajith offered prayers at the Samadhi Mandir, Dwarkamai, and Gurusthan — three of the temple’s most sacred sites.

As a mark of respect, the temple administration presented him with a Sai Baba idol and a ceremonial shawl. Speaking after the visit, Ajith said he has been a devotee of Sai Baba for many years but had not been able to visit the temple in the last four years. He added that the visit brought him “great peace and satisfaction.”

Custom Mahindra BE 6 Formula E Edition

Meanwhile, the actor also received a unique electric vehicle inspired by India’s growing presence in global electric motorsport. The vehicle — the Mahindra BE 6 Formula E Edition — is based on technology derived from Mahindra’s participation in the Formula E.

The special-edition SUV delivered to Ajith features the Tango Red exterior and several race-inspired elements.

Performance highlights include:

  • 79 kWh battery pack
  • Claimed range: 683 km (MIDC)
  • Top speed: 202 km/h
  • Acceleration: 0–100 km/h in 6.7 seconds

Inside the cabin, the SUV features Formula E-branded seats, race-themed graphics, and bright orange brake calipers. It also includes a distinctive “flip-cap” start/stop switch, inspired by racing cars.

The vehicle’s technology suite includes dual 12.3-inch panoramic displays powered by a Snapdragon 8155 chipset and a 3D surround sound system by Harman.

Mahindra Hands Over Keys

The SUV was personally handed over to Ajith in Chennai by R. Velusamy, President of Automotive Technology at Mahindra & Mahindra.

Commenting on the vehicle, Rajesh Jejurikar said the BE 6 represents Mahindra’s racing heritage translated to consumer vehicles.

According to him, the SUV is “bold, electric, defiant — and unmistakably Indian,” reflecting over 12 years of Mahindra’s racing DNA being brought to public roads.

The Formula E Edition variants (FE2 and FE3) were launched with introductory prices of ₹23.69 lakh and ₹24.49 lakh respectively.

Growing EV Momentum for Mahindra

Mahindra’s new electric lineup has been gaining traction in the market.

The company reported that its Electric Origin SUVs — including the Mahindra BE 6 and Mahindra XEV 9e — recorded 6,532 units in sales in February 2026, marking a strong year-on-year increase.

Fans React

Videos of Ajith’s temple visit and his new electric SUV quickly went viral on social media.

Fans and automotive enthusiasts described the moment as “two motorsport legends colliding,” highlighting Ajith’s well-known racing background and Mahindra’s involvement in Formula E. Indian racing driver and brand ambassador Kush Maini also praised the vehicle, calling it “the perfect bridge from race to road for Indian fans.”
